chubby dipping season has arrived

The desert has consistently reached the 100F mark for several days.  It is something we all love and hate.  Knowing it is here, there is an excuse to shun 'real' shoes, look for parking in the shade, stay inside until the sun goes down, and swim.

Swimming would be a no brainer, yes?  Kind of.  Currently, hubby and I have no pool of our own and there isn't much point putting water in the spa, because frankly 100F water isn't much of an improvement on a 110F day.

However, I have a generous friend who allows hubby and me use of her pool each summer.  The home is currently her vacation dwelling and so the gorgeous backyard pond goes unloved and unadored most of the year.  I always feel guilty that I have use of it when she does not save one or two weeks a year.

Today, hubby, the blond and I went on the first dip of summer.  Since water aerobics starts in the public pool next week, we thought it was best to (literally) test the waters first to see how cold it was going to be.

Once fully immersed, not bad.  The initial chill reminded me of the old Lipton Tea commercials when they'd talk about how refreshing the dip had been.  Remember once the core is cooled, the rest of the day seems to go smoother!

Oh, the point?  Chubby dipping is when those of us who are round swim (either with or without suits) ... skinny dipping should be reserved for the skinny.  No?

Cute! The water should warm up real soon! (or does it get cool there at night?)

Have fun! Wear sunscreen!
