Inspiration is everywhere - even the preface of a book

Inspiration is Everywhere - even the preface of a book

I just started LA Banks book, Minion Vampire Huntress Legends I.

Normally, I don't read the preface to books, but I was compelled to read this one.  In it she quotes Nelson Mandela's inaugural speech.  ""Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. ... As we are liberated from our own fear our presence automatically liberates others."

Inspiration is around each corner, in every book, in the light of the eyes of the person who sits across from you at the dinner table.

the market not tapped

I like the obscure and the ridiculous.  Unfortunately, so do most 8 year old boys.  They aren't the market I'd like to think I write for ... but then again... who knows.

I did stumble onto someone who has my sense of humor.

Rock Fangsworthy rides. The Zillionaire Vampire Cowboy's Secret Werewolf Babies is up again. http://ninenaughtynovelists.blogspot.com/
This is in the middle of the blog and you might have to hunt but it is worth it!

This Day in History ...

Sometimes I think it is a very good thing that we don't get advance notice of the things that are coming down the pike.  I know that if I had any advanced warning about most of the major events in my life, I would have done several things:

I would have psyched myself out of a lot of things and tried to hide from the world.
I would have spend more time in the gym working on myself
I would have written more letters to my friends.
I would have said I love you more often.
I would have donated more to fewer charities.  (I've been known to spread a little bit all over the place when sometimes a lot once would have made a much bigger difference.)

But since most of life is about showing up and being as fearless as possible, I'd embrace my inner Cowardly Lion and realize that the Wizard didn't leave me by the side of the road.

I've got more courage than I think.
I've survived more than I ever would have guessed.
I believe optimism is the new black.

in my next lifetime ...

In my next lifetime, I want to come back as a dog.

Yep.

The reality is, dogs have excitement for even the smallest kindness and forgive quickly and easily.

Blondie-boy, my ancient lab mix, is as excited to go for a ride to the post office as he is to go for an hour or more.

Adult humans are just too jaded.

Find what brings you either childlike or dog-like joy and embrace it!  I am.

the search for fall leaves ...

Mother Nature usually celebrates autumn by getting out her 'good crayons' and coloring the trees with magnificent reds, oranges, yellows, and even the browns ... this doesn't happen so often in the desert.  Here we go from light green to beige/sand pretty quickly (unless water is supplied in great abundance) ...

Hubby and I decided to take a trek to the north country and see what MN (Mother Nature) did.  Turns out, not so much.  At least not where we were looking.  Turns out there are a lot more evergreens in northern Arizona than anyone would have realized.

Maybe next year we'll go someplace else to search.
